In Sophie’s last music lesson, we suddenly found ourselves in a forest. Straight ahead was a rope ladder and next to it we could make out some kind of wooden chest hidden behind overgrown flowers. We carefully moved the foliage aside and opened the lid with great trepidation …

‘Oh no!’, Sophie exclaimed, ‘the chest won’t open without a code’. Wondering what could be inside, we searched through her printed sheet music and followed the musical clues in it to work out the code. We began learning the music in readiness for opening the mysterious chest next lesson”

Solve the case using the music

The Lost Diamond is an engaging musical adventure where students use the included sheet music and online interactive game (split into three chapters) to solve the mystery. The investigation begins on a river path in the forest but which way will they choose to go first? Moving around the island, clues can only be revealed with music theory knowledge as fake diamonds are ruled out one by one.

Gather the evidence

  • The ‘Lost Diamond’ includes a printable sheet music book (with hidden clues!) to keep forever so you can play your favourite tunes from the mystery as many times as you like. Experience the magic of the mystical ‘Wishing Tree’ and get that campfire burning in ‘Going Camping Boogie’. There are six pieces to learn and the book comes in a PDF format for easy printing after checkout.
  • Search the island using three online interactive games playable on a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Hike through the forest in part one, enter Bluestone Caves in part two, and finish the mystery on an abandoned pirate ship in part three. Musical detectives have six months access to the online part of the mystery (which is plenty of time to close the case).
  • The pack also includes a ‘Diamond Case Files’ sheet so you can keep track of the investigation.
  • Successful detectives automatically unlock a printable certificate for identifying the real ‘lost diamond’!
